Codis Appoints Steven Facer in New Role as Chief Commercial Officer
The newly created role will bring the CDMO’s sales, marketing, and business development teams under a unified commercial strategy across the U.S. and UK.
Global CDMO that specializes in spray drying, amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs) and advanced particle engineering, Codis, has appointed Steven Facer as its first Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). This newly created position will allow the company to align its commercial operations across regions (1).
In this new role, Facer will focus on aligning regional activity with the company’s wider commercial strategy. Leading the company’s sales, marketing, and business development functions, Facer will be charged with bringing the teams together to help Codis coordinate customer engagement, respond to market needs, and pursue growth opportunities across its U.S. and UK operations.
Facer first joined the company in October 2025 and has since helped lead its commercial function. He brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across the pharmaceutical, medical device, and packaging sectors, with previous senior roles including positions at Thermo Fisher Scientific, ACG Worldwide, Capsugel, Catalent, Colorcon, and Adare Pharma Solutions.
“In his new role, Steve will shape the company’s commercial strategy, strengthen cross-regional collaboration, and support the next phase of organisational growth,” said Nicolas Fortin, Chief Executive Officer of Codis, in a company press release about the appointment (1). “His leadership will be central to advancing our strategic objectives and reinforcing our position in the markets we serve.”
Facer’s appointment brings Codis’ U.S. and UK commercial teams under a single strategy as the company looks to expand and strengthen its position in the market. For customers, the more coordinated approach could make it easier to access its formulation and manufacturing services across both regions.
This latest news comes a little over a month after the company closed on its acquisition of Catalent’s Nottingham UK facility, expanding its spray drying network within Europe and adding more than two decades of formulation and clinical supply expertise into the organization (2). After the closing of the facility acquisition, Codis boasts more than 400,000 sq.ft. of CGMP space spanning both the U.S. and UK.
