Codis Expands European Footprint with Catalent Nottingham Facility Acquisition
By combining Nottingham’s development capabilities with its expanded Haverhill site, Codis creates an integrated UK pathway spanning early-stage development to commercial-scale supply.
Global CDMO and specialist in spray drying, amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs), and advanced particle engineering solutions, Codis, has completed its acquisition of Catalent’s Nottingham, UK facility. Through the acquisition, Codis adds oral solid dose development and small-scale commercial manufacturing expertise into its European offering (1).

The acquisition of the Nottingham facility is strategically complementary to Codis’ large-scale commercial spray drying facility, located in Haverhill, UK, which is currently being equipped with a new GEA Pharma-SD PSD-4 commercial spray dryer. In combination, the capabilities across Nottingham and Haverhill will boost Codis’ portfolio of bioavailability enhancement solutions and will allow the company to provide its customers with services spanning early development through to clinical supply and commercial intermediates, and then to final oral dose forms.

The company was launched as a new global CDMO in 2025 (2) and announced its plans to acquire Catalent’s Nottingham site in July 2026 (3). Additionally, the company’s Business Development Director, Pedro Fernandes Botas, and Technical Sales Director, Mark Macdonald, provided The Pharma Navigator with a comprehensive overview of how spray drying capabilities, mathematical modelling, and commercial operations experience are helping sponsors with their modern formulation needs in a recent video interview (4).
