L.B. Bohle to Showcase Continuous Manufacturing Tech at INTERPHEX 2026

The company will exhibit three key pharmaceutical processing systems for oral solid dose production at the show in New York to highlight its advances in continuous manufacturing, tablet coating, and particle processing.

Global pharmaceutical equipment manufacturer, L.B. Bohle, will be showcasing its latest innovations in pharmaceutical processing at INTERPHEX, which is taking place on April 21–23, 2026 in New York City. With a focus on improving efficiency in oral solid dose manufacturing, the company has revealed that it will present three of its latest technologies — the QbCon 1, the BFC 5, and the BTS 200 — at the show (1).

The QbCon 1 continuous wet granulation and drying system integrates raw material dosing, twin-screw wet granulation, and drying into one compact, mobile unit. The compact system provides advanced features, including material conveyance, short residence times for better traceability, automatic exhaust filter cleaning, and high containment. Additionally, operational flexibility and operator safety are optimized through integrated control systems (2).

Designed to deliver narrow residence-time distributions, the QbCon 1 is capable of simplifying material traceability in continuous processes. Through this ability, system users can track materials more easily, from raw ingredients to finished tablets, and can benefit from accelerated scale-up. Further, the system’s integrated process analytics cut resource use and speed up development times (2).

The second technology being highlighted by the company is the BFC 5 laboratory tablet coater, which offers a standalone solution for precise spraying, mixing, and drying in a compact design. The coater features fully integrated airflow, electrical systems, and process controls, and is equipped with an intuitive touchscreen interface that allows users to visualize the controls across multiple panels (3).

Batch sizes ranging from 2 L to 13 L can be run on the coater, and a mini drum also enables users to process pilot batches sizes of 170–350 mL. As a result of the batch size ranges, the coater is suitable for use in R&D and process optimization (3).

Rounding out the technology lineup for INTERPHEX is the BTS 200 pharmaceutical sieving machine, which can calibrate the particle size of dry or wet products with a throughput of up to three metric tons per hour. Using optimized perforated and friction-type conical sieve inserts, the machine is able to handle a variety of powders and pharmaceutical materials (4).

The latest machine design includes an innovative impeller, which minimizes product loss. Additionally, the new design incorporates enhanced CIP cleaning, electrical height adjustment, and intuitive touchscreen operation (4).

"Continuous manufacturing and flexible development-scale technologies are becoming increasingly important for modern oral solid dose production," said Mike Fazio, Director of Sales and Marketing at L.B. Bohle LLC, in a company release (1). "At INTERPHEX 2026, we will demonstrate how our latest systems support faster development, improved process control, and more efficient pharmaceutical manufacturing."
