Alcami Establishes Transatlantic Footprint with Tjoapack Acquisition

With this definitive acquisition agreement, the CDMO will expand its presence on the global market with its first European location and will enable greater customer support.

U.S.-based contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), Alcami Corporation, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire contract packaging organization, Tjoapack. The acquisition will see Alcami gain facilities in both the U.S. and The Netherlands.

“This acquisition marks our first European expansion which is an essential element of our investment strategy to expand our presence in the global market,” said Patrick Walsh, Chairman and CEO of Alcami, in a company press release (1). “Furthermore, this increased scale aligns with our growth and expansion in pharmaceutical testing lab services, drug product manufacturing and pharma storage service offerings at Alcami.”

“This transaction represents an important next chapter for Tjoapack. Partnering with Alcami allows us to accelerate our growth ambitions while staying true to what has made Tjoapack successful — quality, reliability, and a strong focus on our customers,” added Dexter Tjoa, CEO of Tjoapack, in the press release (1). “Together, we create a more integrated transatlantic platform that enables us to support our partners more effectively as they scale and expand globally.”

Through this acquisition, Alcami will be able to offer its customers U.S. supply chain redundancy and scale for packaging and labelling. Additionally, the CDMO will gain qualified person (QP) release and related services within Europe, which will allow customers to expand their global reach from a single supplier. Tjoapack clients will gain access to Alcami’s services, including pharmaceutical testing labs, sterile and oral solid dose drug product manufacturing, and GMP pharma storage, enabling delivery of medicines worldwide with minimal supplier hand-offs.

The transaction is still subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026.

Earlier in 2026, Alcami acquired a facility in North Carolina, strengthening its position in the advanced laboratory services sector. The facility, located in the Research Triangle Park region, will serve as a hub for the company’s growing analytical and development capabilities (2).

“This acquisition marks another milestone in our strategy to deliver innovative, scalable solutions for our clients in the growing area of biologics,” explained Katie Schlipp, President, Lab Operations at Alcami in a company press release about the facility acquisition (2). “By expanding our analytical lab capabilities in RTP, we’re able to support innovators in bringing life-changing therapies to patients faster and more reliably.”
