Infinimmune Secures Funding for Human-First Antibodies Targeting Atopic Dermatitis
The funds will be used to advance two complementary eczema programs that leverage millions of screened human memory B cells and protein language models to deliver more potent and longer‑acting antibodies.
California–based biotech, Infinimmune, has closed a USD 75 million Series A financing round co‑led by Regeneron Ventures and Playground Global. The investment will fund the advancement of two fully human, half‑life extended monoclonal antibodies for atopic dermatitis, with first‑in‑human studies planned for 2027 (1).
The antibodies have been developed by the company’s Anthrobody discovery platform, which screens millions of individual human memory B cells to recover natively paired, fully human heavy‑ and light‑chain sequences. The company combines this with its GLIMPSE antibody language model to prioritize and optimize candidates before engineering for developability and extended half‑life.
“Infinimmune's Anthrobody platform produces antibodies with a combination of potency, half-life, and developability that we haven't seen from conventional discovery approaches, and does so in a fraction of the time when compared to traditional technologies,” said Benjamin Kim, Ph.D., Partner at Playground Global, in a company press release (1). “In practice, that means medicines that can be dosed far less frequently than current biologics while delivering better efficacy.”
The lead asset, IFX‑101, is a monoclonal antibody that targets interleukin‑22 (IL‑22), a pathway that currently has no approved biologic in atopic dermatitis despite evidence that IL‑22 drives keratinocyte activation, barrier dysfunction, and pruritus. Infinimmune describes IFX‑101 as a potential first‑ and best‑in‑class IL‑22 inhibitor, engineered for superior neutralization and extended dosing intervals to reduce treatment burden.
The second program, IFX‑201, targets interleukin‑13 (IL‑13), a validated driver of Th2 inflammation in eczema and the basis of approved drugs such as tralokinumab and lebrikizumab. Infinimmune positions IFX‑201 as a best‑in‑class IL‑13 inhibitor, aiming to improve on potency and durability of response relative to existing agents while maintaining a fully human sequence derived from native immune repertoires. Both candidates are half‑life extended to support less frequent subcutaneous dosing, a key differentiator in a crowded atopic dermatitis market where convenience and sustained control are major clinical and commercial considerations.

Infinimmune will use the latest proceeds to accelerate clinical development of its two lead atopic dermatitis programs, support additional human‑first antibody programs in inflammatory disease, and fund continued deployment of the Anthrobody platform. The company expects to initiate Phase I trials for IFX‑101 and IFX‑201 in 2027, marking a key inflection point for a platform that aims to deliver next‑generation, human‑derived antibodies in eczema and beyond.
